Joey helps out our driver, Raju. He was only 16 and would drive boats in the morning and evening and go to school during the day. He had a huge bright smile and a great personality.
We paid 150 rupees for the trip, and Joey said we would get one rupee off for every stroke he took. We would have only paid 50 rupees upon our return to Varanasi land if that scheme had worked.
