This is a corner of a silk shop we visited on our tour of the old part of Varanasi. Heidi is buried by only a fraction of the pieces we were shown. The shopkeeper kept pulling out scarves, saris, and sheets telling us, "Just tell me what you don't like and I'll take it away." A rather ingenious way to sell more than you would have wanted to buy.
The shopkeeper was very disgusted and irritated when we left without buying a single thing. Too bad! By this time we were beyond the obligation he was hoping we would feel.
